"X2"

The X-Men are back, and this time they may have started a tradition in which the MCU, unfortunately, follows in the second installment of a franchise. A person from their past has returned with a vengeance.
As Logan continues his search to uncover his own past, he discovers William Stryker, the man who is responsible for giving him the adamantium residing in his body. He is also the father of a mutant who was under the care of Professor X until his own powers of telepathy became too great to be controlled. However, Stryker's own methods of control involve a liquid medication that allows mutants to do his bidding, including attacking the President of the United States.
Much like the second Thor movie, they need help from the enemy. Mystique, on the outside, was able to provide Magneto a way out of his plastic prison, and the X-Men recruit him to uncover the second Cerebro before Professor X is forced to kill everyone with his telepathic powers. This being a superhero movie, you know everyone's going to save the day. They stop Professor X, they stop Stryker, but they manage to lose touch on Magneto as he and Mystique manage to escape along with one of Professor X's own students. John, a. k. a. Pyro, is a mutant who is able to manipulate fire and wishes for something greater. And, of course, we all know how that's going to go down, Magneto promises him that something greater.
Storm struggles to lift the jet off the ground as the abandoned bunker/dam is crumbling, so Jean Grey decides to give her life and use her to telekinetic powers to lift the jet into the air in time before the water rushes down the side of the mountain and killing her in the process. We are to believe that she perished saving the lives of everyone on the jet. Cyclops, of course, didn't take it too well. But as the movie draws to a close there's a little shadow in the lake that is now in the place of the dam, which should give us hope as to wonder if Jean survived the blasts of water.
Just like Iron Man 2, Thor: The Dark World, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, this film did very little to impress us the second time around. It decided to take it one step further, perhaps too far, as to have Stryker descend a team on to Professor X's school and capturing the children inside. It really makes you wonder that despite people hating mutants because they are different, would they have any sympathy for the children who were attacked because they are different?
Having that said, I found this WatchMojo video about movie villains being inspired by real people. Magneto was inspired by Malcolm X and his fight against racial suppression. If you put that into a perspective of black children being attacked, you would think that it would be cruel to attack mutant children. Excuse me, ANY CHILD shouldn't be attacked. It gives you more insight into Magneto's motive. However, if that is so, then Professor X is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King didn't approve of Malcolm X's violent protests, which is analogous to Professor X's disapproval of Magneto's violent protests.
Stryker was wanted to kill all mutants because his own son was a mutant and Professor X couldn't help him. But even humans must know that hurting children in the process is just wrong. It'd be like Cujo over here is out to make sure all puppies get rabies because his pup had rabies and Shiloh couldn't help him.
I feel a little hopeless here. There weren't that many Marvel movies as there are now. Or even good ones. You had the Spider-Man series, if you're into that, Blade, and Fantastic Four. Who are you going to turn to for a good movie? The first entry, that was centuries ago.
