"Bird Box"

Holy SH*T!
I don't know whether to call it good or not, but I definitely didn't see that coming.
This dual narrative shows Sandra Bullock blindly taking two kids down a river while at the same time the moment the epidemic that's sweeping the planet. Mass suicides have been caused by just looking. At the time, Mallory is pregnant and was at the hospital with her sister for an ultrasound when it happened. A woman was smacking her hand against the glass window. People where driving into oncoming. Even Jessica, Mallory's sister, crashed their car. Having failed, Jessica walked in front of a bus.
Mallory sought refuge along with a few others in John Malkovich's house; one of whom was a woman that was also pregnant. The rest is just a run of the mill horror flick: a showdown at the supermarket, the black guy gets taken out first...Okay, technically, the gay guy went first, but still it isn't fair that someone who isn't white or straight is the first to go. A stray guy gets in seeking refuge only to find that he has taken his blindfold off and tried to get everyone else to do the same. He almost does it too. Until Tom kills him, and takes Mallory and the new babies to a new setting. When Tom gets killed by taking off his blindfold, killing the psychos after them, and killing himself, Mallory takes the kids down river.
A few days before, they received radio contact from a compound that was a safe haven. Their journey had complications of their own. Boy falls in the river after the boat strikes a semi in the river. In the end they hear the birds, like the contact said to hear. The legendary creatures that send a whisper to their victims, causing them to commit suicide, had to try extra hard in the final act but it doesn't work because Mallory and the others make it to the compound. Turns out it's a school for the blind. The birds they keep warns them of the creatures, like the birds Mallory kept in a box. Now they're in a Bird Box.
I thought this was in an interesting concept in the horror genre, but it was wasted on a movie made by a streaming service. That creates a new thought for movies being made nowadays. Where there concepts so dumb that major film studios said no to? Boy, are they sorry. No, I'm not saying Bird Box was excellent, like I said before. I mean all the other shows and movies that made this list: Stranger Things, House of Cards (sorry), Orange is the New Black, Roma, Manchester by the Sea, The Handmaid's Tale. All these movies and TV shows are award winners not under Disney, Universal, Paramount, or 20th Century Fox. Their loss, I guess.
Meanwhile, this movie is creating a stupid obsession to walk around blindfolded doing different tasks like DRIVING! Where are the Tide Pods? They need to come back. Something. This is dumb! Garrh!
